Taylor-Wharton cryogenic storage vessels are based on the principle of consistent thermal insulation.
They consist of an inner container and an outer container, which are separated from each other by a stable vacuum. The vacuum largely prevents any loss of cold from the inner container to the environment. Additional multilayers form a so-called super insulation to prevent cold loss through UV and infrared radiation.
Taylor-Wharton cryogenic storage vessels are suitable for holding both canisters and towers. Here, the type of application determines whether the material to be preserved is stored in the liquid phase of the container or in the gas phase.
